No. 74: Rock Out at the Blue Parrot

It's the weekend, and you're looking for somewhere to have fun. Maybe a few drinks. Certainly some music. But in addition, the joint has to have a laid-back atmosphere, devoid of pretentiousness. But where, oh where can one find such a venue?

Say hello to , jokingly referred to by owner Romeo Martello as "Massapequa's best kept secret." In order to compete in the crowded Massapequa watering hole market, Martello keeps the entertainment flowing like beer from a tap at his establishment.

Classic rock, jazz, and blues are among the many musical stles you'll find your ears treated to if you walk into the Blue Parrot. Martello tends to allow just about any act to try out at his bar...some better than others. But it's all in the name of keeping the customer happy.

So, if you're looking for a gin joint with a little twist, give the Blue Parrot a try.
