Ready Or Not

It is my understanding as I write this that there are 497 days, 8 hours and 45 minutes remaining until the 2020 election.

Unless my math is flawed, that breaks down to 71.5 weeks.

And yet this week, the 2020 Presidential Debates have already begun.

Has anyone missed the avalanche of insults, innuendoes, and personal attacks that the nation endured before Election Night, November 2016?

Must they begin again. Now?

Shouldn’t responsible politicians, who may also be viable candidates, be more interested in performing their individual governmental responsibilities possibly for at least another few months, days, or even weeks.

How much time and preparation and yes, money, is required to begin this parody of political opinions?

And how many more are scheduled that the American public will endure from both parties?

I keep remembering a long ago oft repeated phrase,

“They’re back........”

But I don’t know if anyone wants them.

I know I certainly don’t. And definitely, not so soon.
