Eight Massapequa residents were among the nearly 3,000 people killed on this day 16 years ago.
Nearly 3,000 people died in the 9/11 attacks on this day 16 years ago. Among those killed were two Massapequa residents, two Massapequa Park residents and four North Massapequa residents:
- George C. Cain - Massapequa
- Michael S. Costello - Massapequa
- James Joseph Carson Jr. - Massapequa Park
- Michael Kevin Healey - Massapequa Park and East Patchogue
- Peter J. Ganci Jr. - North Massapequa
- Lester V. Marino - North Massapequa
- Christopher P. Sullivan - North Massapequa
- Andrew Steven Zucker - North Massapequa
