Rob McCue Gets Out of the Kitchen

Massapequa born chef bounced from Fox reality show "Hell's Kitchen."

He had a "hell" of a run.

Former Massapequa resident Rob McCue has been eliminated from the Fox reality TV show, "Hell's Kitchen."

McCue, a corporate chef who now lives in Brooklyn, was kicked off  Wednesday's show by host Gordon Ramsay after a nightmarish night of cooking seafood.

The mercurial Chef Ramsay began barking  after McCue turned in undercooked scallops, but really erupted when he repeated the mistake by serving up raw halibut.

"You've got five minutes to wake up, otherwise you're history," Ramsay told McCue, before punctuating his tirade with a few expletives.

McCue did improve his act but was eventually told to leave the kitchen

Later, he was one of two chefs nominated for elimination from the show, and was picked by Ramsay to depart.

"It's unfortunate, because I think the wrong guy went home, but I guess everyone says that," McCue said on the program.

His elimination ends a dream run for the chef whose brother Steve own's Massapequa's popular eatery Krisch's.

Last month, McCue returned  to Massapequa to mingle with friends and fans and serve up up some dishes during a viewing party at his brother's restaurant.

He has said that he hopes his appearance on "Hell's Kitchen" will lead to other TV projects. McCue will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Bon Appetit magazine along with a salad he prepared for the show.
