Sacred Advent
December 1st, we have jubilantly and auspiciously entered Advent, the season of joy and awe.

That magical time denoting Christ's impending coming and signaling to prepare for this marvelous adventure and blessing.

Jesus' birth is a prominent calendar event but also and more so a highly spiritual and heart centered state that eclipses both the human mind as well as mortal diction and earthbound etymology.

This exalted and transcendental period leading up to Christmas fills one's Soul with sublime and pure renewal and acknowledges our Oneness with God and a precious and irrevocable connectivity to every living creature.

The forthcoming event was so esteemed and profound that Jesus' birth was foretold and recorded countlessly throughout the Old Testament, providing many miraculous and paradoxical anecdotes, such as a virgin bearing a child, who was propagated by Holy Spirit and destined for unbelievable greatness as the Divinely anointed King of Kings, and He will fulfill prophesy and rebuke and transform thinking and long-established customs and laws.

The accurate details of Isaiah's promise of salvation in quote 40:3, "A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God" depicts a Supreme sanctioning and grand announcement.

This was God's plan and proclamation thousands of years ago: to clear a path, be ready, don't delay.

These specific circumstances were well scripted in the Bible forming a clear delineation from the point of genesis to the Messiah's natal adoration.

We are each fashioning a path as we progress.

Advent can help revise scattered, mindless, destructive routines and thought patterns into hopeful glorious illuminations and insightful guidance.

Even in mankind's origins with Adam and Eve, Jesus was prophesied in Genesis 3:15, where God decreed "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers he will crush your head, and you will strike at his heels."

The Almighty declared that a descendant of Eve will squash the serpent's head, indicating a victorious conquest over nefarious handiworks, referencing Jesus and His mother the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The power to accomplish all these deeds was bestowed within the vulnerable babe born in a manger, a trough deemed suitable to feed animals and foreshadowing that Jesus will feed the world physically and spiritually.

Symbols preserve and foster the integrity and holiness of religious rites and holidays.

Prepare the way for the Lord.

Slow down. Pause. Reflect. BELIEVE.
