Massapequa Park Native Vicki DiMartino named to Women's Under-20 World Cup.

Former Massapequa High School soccer star Vicki DiMartino has been named to the women's Under 20 World Cup team. 

DiMartino, 18, who scored 52 goals and had 27 assists in her high School career will now head to Germany to play in the tournament which gets underway on July 13.  The U.S. squad will play Ghana the following day.

She was named to the team over the weekend after participating in a two week training camp in Los Angeles and San Diego.

It's the latest accolade for DiMartino who had a sensational freshman season at Boston College last fall.  She led the team in scoring with 14 goals and six assists and was named All-ACC Freshman of the Year.

She has an impressive resume in international play as well, having been a forward for the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team.  She scored five goals in five consecutive games at the U17 World Cup in 2008.

At Massapequa High School, she was a 2009 Parade All-American  and made All-County teams as a freshman, sophomore and junior.   She was also selected to  the All-Long Island team as a junior.  She only played three games in her senior year, due to international commitments.
