It has all the makings of an idyllic June day. Masapequa residents can stroll the grounds of an historic church, eat good food and rub elbows with their neighbors.
They can also stuff themselves silly with the quintessential summer fruit.

The featured attractions are fresh strawberries grown on Long island, and homemade strawberry shortcake to die for. But there will also be activities such as face painting and a chance to purchase home-grown Long Island produce. A band will play country music and there will be tours of the church grounds.
Traditional strawberry season lasts from June until mid-August, so now is the time to taste some while they're fresh.
The festival runs all day Saturday, from 9:00am to 6:00pm and admission is free.
The forecast calls for a beautiful weekend, but on the off-chance that Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, the rain date is Sunday, June 20th.
