Tell It. To

Come Home

I am reluctant to push the panic button.

Not yet, anyway, but I am beginning to waiver now about how soon I must.

How long should I wait or just abandon the search.

I know I will find it. I really know that.

It’s too big to be lost, at least that’s what I believe and of course, hope..

And obviously too new (one year, oh maybe two) too good, too nice to have been discarded, even accidentally.

I have spent the better part of two days searching. That means I have missed two episodes of Flesh and Blood, allowed the 5 lb. bag of apples to remain unpeeled, patiently waiting to be huddled gently into a crisp. I have not logged even one session on my new exercise bike.

Of course I don’t absolutely need it now. When I remembered it the day before yesterday, I hoped I to wear it this weekend. Perhaps by then the quarantine will be over or who knows I’ll wake up and discover Covid 9 was only a bad dream.

It is soft blue, probably a bit softer in color now, because it has been lurking somewhere in the dark recesses of who knows where for who knows how long.

I only remembered it when I resurrected it’s older sister, a dark gray relative.

That looked amazingly good despite its age, 5 years, I think, Then I recalled a younger version, soft blue and just a tad shorter.

When I opened the crowded closet, I could not find the pale blue washable wool sweater dress I bought on sale two weeks before Covid arrived.

After that unexpected, unwanted visitor arrived, I had little use for a pale blue washable wool sweater dress or anything even similar. The only items of clothing I sought were aged exercise outfits, comfortable, loose and vague.

That’s why I put my lovely new dress away so carefully. So very carefully, as a matter of fact that now that despite the small dimensions of my lovely apartment, my soft blue washable wool sweater dress is able to hide so well from sight.

Well, the TV assured me today that the Covid vaccine will not be available until mid December. My friends currently remain in quarantine, and I still have the apple crisp to make, so perhaps I’ll look for it again tomorrow.

Sweater dresses don’t run away from home, or do.they?

In case you see a soft blue washable wool sweater dress size 16 (sometimes erroneously labled “L,” ) please send it home.

Maybe it’s hiding from Covid too.
