I thought of them again today, but in a totally different context.

The little things that currently add unbelievable pleasure to my new solitary existence are quite different.

A few examples:

This morning I found an unused filter for my Cuisinart coffee maker that instantly restored the quality to the brew. Amazon is currently out of stock.

Todd and Andrew, two thoughtful friends left a beautiful Easter greeting along with a small sack of my favorite chocolate for delivery on Sunday by the Concierge

A Granddaughter has discovered the same comfort in baking as her Grandmother and now emails pictures of culinary successes.

Daily gratitude to the son who absolutely insisted I learn how to stream, a practice that has been an emotional crutch these isolated evenings.

Email messages from near and afar that are constant reminders that friendships remain fast despite distance and time

And then as:

I realize I don’t need a jetliner to travel back in time but I have

A gift of Alexa, a surprise from the two J’s (Jim and Julie), that has become my vehicle to memories of romantic places.

Yesterday’s Shipt delivery that included a dozen eggs. I then had the pleasure of baking a French almond cake, a fragrant reminder of Pierre, the pastry chef neighbor and friend, who introduced me to his Parisian world of cuisine.

And, of course, readers, all from far and near, who take the time to read my words, send emails and enhance my world
