Thieves Break Hole In Wall Of Nassau Store To Rob It

Police say they burglars tried to pry open an ATM inside the store, and left their tools behind inside.

A store in Massapequa was robbed early Monday morning after police say the burglars cut power to the building and broke a hole in the wall.

According to police, officers responded to Smoke City, located at 5500 Sunrise Highway, after receiving a call for a burglary. When they arrived, the officers found that the power to the building had been shut off and that a large hole and been punched through the rear cinder block wall. The burglars entered through the wall and took stole cigarettes, and also tried to pry open the ATM in the store.

Police say that a sledgehammer, wire cutters and a crowbar were found inside the store.
