Town Launches Special Holiday Drive At Local Ice Skating Rinks

Residents can donate food for the less fortunate throughout the month of December.

TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NY - Town officials announced that a special drive called “Helping through the Holidays,” will be launched this year at all three of the Town’s ice skating facilities.

Through the end of December, visitors to Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating facilities are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to Town rinks to support Island Harvest Food Bank in its mission to end hunger on Long Island.

“The fine work of organizations like Island Harvest touch the lives of so many Long Islanders who are less fortunate,” Supervisor Joseph Saladino said. “We ask our residents visiting any of our ice skating facilities this month to bring a donation for this wonderful cause - just one or two items from each visitor would make a great difference.”
