Massapequa High School Students Dismissed Early Due to Water Main Break
A water main break closed down part of Merrick Road on Monday morning.

Massapequa High School has announced that due to the water main break, students have been dismissed early on Monday afternoon.
A message on the school's website posted at about 1 p.m. stated that all students were dismissed at 1:38 p.m.

Buses were provided additional time to navigate the road closure near the high school.
Despite the early dismissal at the high school, all afternoon and evening activities are still running as scheduled.

Bus transportation for all other schools may experience delays and access to both Massapequa High School and Birch Lane Elementary school is affected by the closing of Merrick Road and re-routing of traffic.

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY - Nassau County Police are advising drivers that part of Merrick Road in Massapequa Park has been shut down as of Monday morning.
The east and west bound lanes on Merrick Road between Park Boulevard and Cartwright Boulevard are closed due to a water main break as of about 8:45 a.m.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
