Two Vehicle Accident on Sunrise Highway

A truck and a car flipped over and collided with another vehicle on Sunrise Highway Monday afternoon, police said.

The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Sunrise and Louden Street at 1 p.m.

Two people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Massapequa fire officials.

The crash closed the eastbound side of the highway for more than an hour.

The accident comes on the heels of a to demand a child safety zone, which would give some residents the chance to take a school bus rather than cross the highway on foot.
