
It was a week where we saw some things change and some things remain the same in the Massapequa School District. There remained questions in the Rusty Torres case and the Town of Oyster Bay tried to answer someone. The investigation of a 7th Precinct cop also took a turn this week.

The Massapequa School Board as busineeman Joe LaBella was elected as a new member Tuesday. Maryanne Fisher was re-elected to a fourth term, while the school and library budgets both easily passed.

Several investigations were in the news this week, one of which was the continued fallout from the arrest of Rusty Torres. The ex-Yankee and North Massapequa resident was emplyed by the Town of Oyster Bay as a youth Baseball Coach. On Tuesday, Supervisor saying the town had never heard complaints or allegations of inappropriate behavior around children prior to the arrest.
The investigation into possible wrongdoing against 7th precinct officer Michael Tedesco continued, as his alleged mistress Tara Obenauer of Massapequa against Tedesco, who has been accused of conducting an affair when he was supposed to be on the job.
