
A Port Jefferson Station man was seriously injured in a two-car crash on Veterans Memorial Highway in Holbrook Friday morning, police said.
According to police, Lawrence Palestri, 60, was driving a 2004 Toyota Rav4 westbound on Vets Highway, attempting to make a left turn onto Lincoln Avenue, when his vehicle was struck by a 2012 Ford E350 van traveling eastbound on Vets Highway at 10:50 a.m.

Palestri was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Ford, William Brown, 50, of Ronkonkoma, was not injured.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
