Duo Arrested After Leading Nassau Officers On Chase: Police
Police say officers surprised them while they were trying to break into a store, and they took off.
Nassau Police arrested two men after they fled from officers following a burglary in Oceanside early Saturday morning, police say.
According to police, while on routine patrol around 3:40 a.m. Saturday morning, officers saw two men in the back of the AT&T store located at 186 Merrick Road in Merrick. Police say the two men -- Robert Stoval, 31, of Miller Place, Brooklyn, and Juan Grigg, 39, of Maple Avenue, Uniondale -- got into a car and fled when the officers arrived.
The car took off north on Babylon Turnpike and the officers gave chase, police say. Stoval, who was driving, struck a stop sign near Sunrise Highway, police say, and continued onto Sunrise Highway before crashing into a parked car at Mavis Auto Body Shop. Police say both men fled the crash on foot.

Stoval was arrested a short time later. Nassau County K9 units arrived and helped find Grigg outside of Saint Barnabas Church, located at 2320 Bedford Ave. in Bellmore. He was arrested and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say the two were responsible for a burglary that occurred at a Verizon store located at 3337 Long Beach Road in Oceanside on March 23. Police say they broke into the store and stole merchandise.

Stoval is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer and leaving the scene of an accident. Grigg is charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. Both were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
