Mangano Honors Cops Who Saved Merrick Resident's Life
The woman suffered a heart attack. But the actions of the officers saved her.

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter honored three Nassau County Police Officers and one Nassau County Police Medic for their heroic actions which saved the life of a Merrick resident in September.
The recognition ceremony took place on Friday in Mineola. In attendance were the aided Merrick resident, Mary Feeney and her family, who thanked the officers and medic for saving her life.
“Nassau County is blessed to have such a professional, hardworking and dedicated police department,” said Mangano. “These officers and police medic are truly deserving of the recognition accorded to them for helping save one of our residents from a tragic ending. Working collaboratively, they truly made a difference. Their quick response and immediate action has made the difference between life and death.”

On Sept. 16, Mary Feeney suffered a heart attack while in her Merrick home. Police were called to the scene and when they arrived, Feeney was turning blue and had no pulse. The three officers and medic jumped into action utilizing an AED and performing chest compressions and successfully saved Feeney’s life.
