Merrick Man Charged with Injuring 60-Year-Old in Hit-and-Run
The man faces first degree assault charges.

The driver who hit a 60-year-old man and drove away in Hicksville last week has been arrested, police sid.
Thomas M. Dee, 53, of Merrick, was charged with first degree assault, leaving the scene of an incident and leaving the scene of an incident and causing injury.
According to police, a dark, late model pickup truck entered the parking lot, located at 370 Old Country Road, and hit a man walking through the lot at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The truck, operated by Dee, also struck a parked vehicle before driving away eastbound on Old Country Road, police said.
The man struck by the truck was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury.

Dee was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
