Merrick Pack Ready to Welcome New Cub Scouts and Parents

The Cub Scouts are opening up to new members.

Merrick Cub Scout Pack 225, the oldest Pack in Merrick, is opening its doors to new members right now.

As boys and parents are getting ready for school, they can also be getting ready for a great year of meaningful, educational and fun Cub Scouting activities. Boys in grades from kindergarden through fifth grade are encouraged to join in the fun.

As a special kick-off event, Pack 225 will hold a welcome campfire on Sept. 16 at the Wantagh State Park Fire Ring at 7 p.m. All new scouts and parents will be welcomed into the pack. Games, songs, skits and smores will follow.

Cub Pack 225 is sponsored by Cure of Ars Church, meets once a month for an action-packed pack night, and plans one special outing each month. This year's outings will include hiking, bike rides, slot car racing, beach camping trips, battleship sleepover, Pinewood Derby races, holiday parties and more.
