Nassau Police Make Arrest In Gang-Related Slaying Of 19-Year-Old
Josue Amaya Leonor's body was found buried in the woods last month. Today, police say they've arrested one of his alleged killers.

Nassau County police have made an arrest in the gang-related death of a 19-year-old Roosevelt man, whose body was recovered in the Roosevelt Preserve in late May.
According to police, Jose Lopez, 19, of Howard Avenue, Roosevelt, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the murder of Josue Amaya Leonor.
Police found Leonor's body in the Roosevelt Preserve on May 30 after following a lead that came from the arrest of Josue Figueroa-Velasquez, 18, of Freeport, who was charged in connection with the 2017 murder of 16-year-old Angel Soler. Leonor's remains were found about two miles from where Soler was buried.
