Nassau Teen Fled, Fought Officers Arresting Him: Police

Police say the officers were trying to arrest him for an open warrant, but the teen fled and injured the two.

A Nassau teen was arrested after police say he fled from two detectives and then injured them when they tried to arrest him.

According to police, detectives went to a home on Nassau Road in Uniondale at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday to arrest a teen with an open warrant for a domestic disturbance. When the detectives approached the teen -- Johan Yapor, 17, of Allers Boulevard, Roosevelt -- police say he attempted to flee and refused to listen to the detectives' orders.

The detectives caught up with Yapor, police say, and he then fought with them and flailed his arms violently as they tried to place him under arrest. The detectives managed to subdue him and place him under arrest.
