• VIDEO: 2 Suffer Minor Injuries In Merrick House Fire: FD (patch.com) — Merrick residents are learning more about a serious house fire on Merrick Avenue that left two people with minor injuries and their home uninhabitable Tuesday night. About 75 firefighters from North Merrick and surrounding departments spent roughly ninety minutes battling flames in the attic and second floor, while the Red Cross and local building officials were called in to assist the displaced occupants.
