Police Seek Man Who Slashed Nassau County Dunkin' Donuts Employee

Police have released surveillance footage of the attack that took place last Sunday.

The Long Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help to find a man who they say attacked an employee at a Long Beach Dunkin’ Donuts earlier this week.

According to police, Derrick D. Patten, 23, of Long Beach, violently and without provocation slashed a male victim across the face with an unknown weapon at about 10 p.m. Sunday at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 1070 W. Beech Street.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and required over 80 stitches, police said.

Patten is described as a black, 5-foot-8, approximately 190 pounds, with brown eyes and long black braided hair. He was last seen wearing dark clothing with a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. Patten is also known to wear thick rimmed glasses, police said.
