• Man Seriously Hurt In 1-Vehicle Crash In Middle Island: Police (patch.com) — A 30-year-old Middle Island man was seriously injured Sunday night when his SUV crossed lanes on Middle Country Road by Longwood Library and hit a telephone pole, police say. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and Suffolk detectives are asking anyone who saw the Middle Island crash to contact the 6th Squad.
