1.8 Pounds Of Pots Seized After Traffic Stop

Troopers found probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

COXSACKIE, NY — On August 13, around 10:51 a.m., State police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the Town of Coxsackie for vehicle and traffic violations. During the interviewing of the driver for the traffic violations, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.

The driver Shanon M. Wilson, 33, of Freeport, was found to be in possession of approximately 1.8 pounds of marihuana. Wilson was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, were he was subsequently charged with:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of marihuana, a felony
  • Vehicle and traffic violations

Wilson was arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond. Return court date of Aug. 16 has been scheduled in the Town of Coxsackie Court.
