Police said there were three other people who had overdosed and required immediate medical attention.

KINGSTON, NY — Kingston police were called to a home Saturday for a report of multiple drug overdoses. When they got there, police said they found there was one fatal overdose and three others that required immediate medical attention.

A white powder recovered from the scene tested positive for the presence of cocaine and fentanyl, police said.

Further investigation found that some, if not all, of the people involved were unaware the cocaine was laced with fentanyl, which is an extremely potent synthetic opioid.
