1-Tank Adventure: Rosendale International Pickle Festival
In addition to the pickling contest, there will be a pickle triathlon competition.

ROSENDALE, NY — Get your taste buds ready for Sunday, because that's when the 22nd Annual Rosendale International Pickle Festival is happening. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rosendale Recreation Center, 1055 Route 32 South in Rosendale.
The event, which is going to be held rain or shine, will be in large tents on the grassy field of the recreation center. Dress warm, because the tents have walls but are not heated.
According to organizers, there will be about 100 vendors, including about 20 to 25 pickle vendors. There will also be craft, grocery and hot food vendors.

Rules for the Pickling Contest can be found here.
During the afternoon, there will be the Pickle Triathlon, where you'll first eat a small jar of Mt. Olive Pickle Spears, then drink 24 ounces of pickle juice through a Big Bore Straw and then participate in the Pickle Tossing Contest.
That consists of a pitcher tossing a pickle chip to a catcher, who catches the chip in his or her mouth and then spurts it into the Counter's Jar.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent of guardian to enter the contests.
Admission to the festival is $5 per person. Children are free. No pets are allowed.
Organizers said parking at the rec center fills up quickly. They are working on providing shuttle buses, so look for alternate parking signs.
