18-Year-Old Accused In Fatal Stabbing After Football Game
The stabbing happened during a fight that occurred after a football game at Arlington High School.

LAGRANGE, NY — An 18-year-old city of Poughkeepsie man was accused of stabbing a student at Arlington High School in Lagrange Friday after a football game.
Dutchess county sheriffs office said Nestor A. OrtizOcampo, 18, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter, a felony.
Quraan Smith, 16, an Arlington junior, was stabbed during a fight after the game, according to Arlington Superintendent Dave Moyer. He died after being taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Ortiz-Ocampo is a former student at Arlington High School.
The incident happened around 9 p.m., authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies, along with the New York State Police, city and town of Poughkeepsie police and the Village of Wappingers Falls police, were dealing with a large fight that broke out after the game.
Ortiz-Ocampo was interviewed by law enforcement and was taken into custody.
The sheriff's office said the investigation is continuing, and anyone who may have been present during the incident is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Moyer said in a letter to the community that there would be additional police presence and security at the high school beginning Monday, adding it was standard procedure after a violent event.
He also said all high school students were reminded to wear their identification badges at all times.
