2 Hudson Valley Residents Face Drug Charges: NYSP

The pair was arrested after a traffic stop in the town of Catskill.

CATSKILL, NY — Two Greene County residents were accused of having illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the town of Catskill.

The New York State Police said troopers stopped a 2003 Subaru Outback around 9:20 p.m. Sunday on West Bridge Street in Catskill for a vehicle and traffic law violation

While talking to the driver — Jessica Collazo, 31, of Catskill — the trooper found the car had an invalid registration.

She was subsequently arrested after being accused of operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.

When troopers talked to Raymond J. Robles, 51, of Catskill, who was a passenger in the car, they found he had crack cocaine.

A search of the Subaru yielded glass smoking pipes and plastic bags containing crack cocaine, police said.

The pair was taken back to the Catskill barracks where another search of Collazo uncovered two crack pipes and two other plastic bags containing crack cocaine.

Collazo and Robles were both charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Police said they were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Catskill Court March 10.
