2 Shot in Newburgh Tuesday

Police responded to a report of 17 gunshots.

NEWBURGH, NY — Two people — a 33-year-old and a teen — were victims of a shooting spree Tuesday in the City of Newburgh. City police received ShotSpotter notifications of 17 gunshots in the area of South Clark Street, between Renwick Street and Benkard Avenue around 6 p.m.

Police said Allah Gayle, 17, and Aaron Stone, 33, both of the City of Newburgh, were shot, the Times Herald-Record reported.

They were treated at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital.

Officials said Stone was shot in the leg and hand and Gayle was shot in the abdomen and leg, News 12 said.

Gayle, who is a Newburgh Free Academy North Campus student, is said to be in the ICU.

Three members of a family were shot and killed Sunday in the Town of Newburgh and a 3-year-old was wounded. Kaliek Goode-Ford, 30, of Newburgh, pleaded not guilty three counts of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
