2 Ulster Men Accused Of Illegal Hunting
Authorities said a sheriff's office patrol car was struck with pellets from a shotgun.
HIGH FALLS, NY — Two Ulster men were arrested after they were accused of illegal hunting on state land. The Ulster County Sheriff's Office said, around 4 p.m. Thursday, a marked sheriff's patrol vehicle was struck by pellets from a shotgun while it was driving on Rogue Harbor Road in the town of Wawarsing.
The deputy, who was not injured, located both men — a 23-year-old from High Falls and 24-year-old from Stone Ridge. Authorities said they were illegally hunting birds on state land without hunting permits and not during bird-hunting season.
The men were charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court at a later date.
