
RHINEBECK, NY — There will be no Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck this year. Fair organizers announced Wednesday that they have pulled the plug on the event, which was to have taken place Aug. 25-30, due to the ongoing new coronavirus pandemic.
A post on the Dutchess County Fairgrounds Facebook page, organizers said, "We have made the incredibly emotional and difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Dutchess County Fair.
"Now and always, the personal wellbeing and safety of our guests, participants and community must be our highest priority," they said.

They have scheduled the next fair for Aug. 24-29, 2021.
On Monday, the Ulster County Fair was canceled after fair officials said they spent countless hours exploring every possible option.

The Ulster fair was supposed to have been Aug. 4-9. The next schedule fair will be Aug. 3-7.
The Dutchess County Fair is held on 147 acres in Rhinebeck. The fair draws close to a half million visitors during its six-day run.
