3 Accused Of Stealing Car After Police Chase In Mid-Hudson Valley
Police said, at one time, the car was clocked traveling more than 90 mph.
TUXEDO, NY — A police chase of a reportedly stolen car ended with the arrest of three men in the Town of Tuxedo Saturday. Around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, state police received an alert to be on the look out for a stolen 2006 GMC Envoy from New York City.
Troopers patrolling on Interstate 84 located the car and found that it left the interstate and went east on Route 17M.
A traffic stop was initiated but the vehicle kept going, police said.

The car continued traveling east and entered Route 17 at the 123 exit.
Police said that, while on Route 17, the car reached speeds of more than 90 mph while driving recklessly. The car then got back onto Interstate 87 going south.

Troopers deployed spike strips which deflated both front tires of the car, which continued traveling on I-87 south striking two state police vehicles.
The car finally came to a stop on I-87 in the Town of Tuxedo, where all three occupants were taken into custody.
Hyman Goldstein, 48, of New York, was the driver, police said. He was issued 27 citations and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree criminal mischief, felonies, and third-degree unlawful fleeing police in a motor vehicle and obstruction of governmental administration, misdemeanors.
The passengers — Jessey Wright, 36, of the Bronx, and Justin Paneto, 27, of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania — were both charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
The three men were arraigned in the Town of Tuxedo Court with a return date to be determined.
