31-Year-Old Admits To Sexually Assaulting Two Children Under 11

NEW WINDSOR, NY — A Hudson Valley man who committed "unspeakable" acts against children will go to prison for a long time as part of a plea agreement.

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that 31-year-old Kevin Cholula, of New Windsor, pleaded guilty on Thursday to two counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.

At his sentencing on June 12, it will be recommended that he be sentenced to 20 years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. Cholula will also be registered as a sex offender under the NYS Offender Registration Act (SORA).

During plea proceedings, Cholula admitted that between July of 2020 and October of 2023, he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct, including at least one act of sexual intercourse, oral sexual conduct, anal sexual conduct or aggravated sexual contact, with two children younger than 11 years of age.

Hoovler thanked the Town of New Windsor Police Department for their investigation which led to the arrest of Cholula.

"The unspeakable actions of this defendant deserve the harshest punishment," the district attorney said. "Investigations into allegations of sexual crimes against children are particularly challenging and I commend the dedicated work of the police officers and prosecutors who ensured justice was served in this case. My Office, together with our law enforcement partners will never cease in our pursuit of sexual predators. We continue to provide support for victims of sexual assault and will hold offenders accountable for their actions."
