Albany Man Arrested in New Paltz on Drug Charges
The man was a passenger in a car that got stopped for a traffic violation, police said.

NEW PALTZ, NY — An Albany man was arrested early Thursday in New Paltz on drug charges.
State Police said the vehicle in which Darryl E. McCloud, 25, was a passenger was stopped for a traffic violation around 1 a.m. on I-87.
McCloud was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.

He was taken into custody and processed at the Highland barracks.
McCloud was charged with the following:

- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
- Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation
McCloud was arraigned before the Town of New Paltz Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
