Archdiocese Of NY Cancels Mass In Hudson Valley
The move follows Dutchess County's decision to limit gatherings to 20 people.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — All Masses in the Archdiocese of New York will be canceled beginning this Saturday and Sunday. According to a news release from the archdiocese, the action was taken in light of the continued concern surrounding the new coronavirus at the advice of medical experts.
Church officials said the development follows Dutchess County's decision to prohibit gatherings of more than 20 people.
The 10 counties that comprise the Archdiocese of New York are New York, Bronx, Richmond, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Dutchess.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York, asked people to remember in their prayers all those whose lives have been impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19.

"Let us pray for all who are sick, as well as doctors, nurses, caregivers and all those working hard to combat the disease," he said.
Churches will remain open for private prayer, the Archdiocese said.
