ORANGE COUNTY, NY — It turns out that Blooming Hill's loss will be Blooming Hill Farm's gain.

The farm that is the biggest reason that ramps and greens are enjoyed by diners in Hudson Valley restaurants just hours after harvesting will be going through some growth, but what makes it special won't change.

Blooming Hill Farm, the "farm-centric" dining, event, and year-round market destination" will be moving to New Windsor. The new digs are projected to open in early mid-2028, with new facilities and a larger overall footprint.

The farm in Monroe says that it has received approval from the Town of New Windsor Planning Board to expand its operations on a new 300+ acre property in New Windsor, which Blooming Hill says will mark "a significant evolution for the Hudson Valley agritourism destination."

The move will take place after a nearly three-year approval process. Blooming Hill Farm says that the move "reflects both long-term growth plans and shifting conditions in the village of South Blooming Grove," at the farm's current location.

The 21-acre farm's existing site has limited parking, wetlands, and nearby residential developments, offering little room for expansion, according to the organization.

"The decision to relocate is two-fold," Austin Jones, owner & managing director, said. "The surrounding area is experiencing rapid overdevelopment, and long term it will no longer support the rural agritourism experience that defines Blooming Hill Farm. The new property allows us to expand our future, add amenities, and thoughtfully scale the business over time."

The new location, which is a former apple orchard and farm on Shaw Road in the Town of New Windsor, is being planned with Lanc & Tully Engineering (Goshen) and DADO Architecture (Cornwall).

Plans include a 5,500-square-foot restaurant with seasonal, locally sourced menus, a farmers market and retail shop, and a 13,000-square-foot event space for weddings and large-scale celebrations.

Construction will begin later this summer or early fall, with the first phase of operations to start in early to mid-2028.

For the first time ever, Blooming Hill Farm will offer lodging, through a partnership, at the new location, "providing guests with a truly immersive Hudson Valley experience — from farm to table to overnight stay."

The current farm location in Blooming Grove will remain open until the move in 2028, continuing its year-round farm market, event programming, and dining.

Blooming Hill Farm began over four decades ago in Blooming Grove, by Guy Jones, as an organic produce operation supplying NYC farmers markets and restaurants. The farm is now led by second-generation owners Austin and Travis Jones, with around 50 employees, and operating "at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, warm hospitality, and experiential culinary tourism."

In addition, Blooming Hill Farm welcomes visitors through a weekly farm stand, a full-service restaurant, and as a seasonal event venue. The property hosts over 60 weddings and private celebrations annually, attracting guests who are seeking "rustic elegance, authenticity, and connection to the land."

With its "daily onsite offerings, strong community ties, and a proud legacy in the farm-to-table movement," Blooming Hill Farm says that it "remains a place where farming, food, and hospitality harmoniously converge."
