Mount Saint Mary College is proud to announce the return of its Summer Institute: Nursing Exploration program, a premier, no-cost career exploration program designed for high school juniors and seniors.
The application deadline is Friday, June 5. Due to high demand and the hands-on nature of the program, slots are limited. Eligibility is restricted to rising high school juniors and seniors. Interested students must submit their applications via the following link: bit.ly/msmcSINE2026.
The program will be held at the Mount campus at 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Two sessions are available to accommodate student schedules. Session 1 runs from July 6 – 10, and session 2 runs from July 13 – 17.
This summer institute is specifically tailored to inspire the next generation of healthcare heroes by providing a realistic look into the nursing profession. Participants will move beyond the classroom to engage in practical skill-building, including wound care, vitals monitoring, and high-fidelity clinical simulations.
Program highlights include:
- Professional Certifications: Students will earn official certifications in CPR/First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Narcan (anti-overdose medicine) administration.
- Mentorship: Attendees will network directly with nursing professionals and current college students to gain insight into the academic and professional journey of a nurse.
- Clinical Skills: Hands-on training in essential nursing tasks using state-of-the-art simulation technology.
