POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — In the Hudson Valley, 2019 started out with bluster but the week will feature classically wintry weather: chance of snow. Still, with the temperatures moving between the 30s and the 40s, what may arrive could be mostly rain.
Wind advisories have been issued for the region by the National Weather Service: A wintry mix of precipitation is possible Wednesday night into Thursday.

- New Year's Day: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 42 by 5pm. Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
- Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph.
- Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 35. North wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Wednesday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Thursday: A chance of snow showers, possibly mixing with rain after 10am, then gradually ending. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Light and variable wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
- Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
- Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
