'First Friday' to Celebrate Poughkeepsie's Culture, Businesses
The monthly event is hoped to entice downtown workers to stay in the city and experience what it has to offer.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - “First Friday” celebrations kick off April 1 in the City of Poughkeepsie.
The new monthly event will begin at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House, according to the First Friday Poughkeepsie Facebook page.
Mayor Rob Rolison said the monthly celebration will highlight the best of the city and showcase cultural, dining and entertainment offerings.

It was organized in cooperation with Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro and representatives from downtown cultural venues and businesses.
The event on April 1 will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Bardavon, 35 Market St. and is free and open to the public.

Afterward, Rolison and Molinaro will ask all participants to walk with them to Main Street where restaurants and businesses will be offering promotional specials and entertainment.
