Mall Employee Accused Of Being Peeping Tom

The victim notified the store's management who then called the state police.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — State police arrested a Middletown man who was video recording someone undressing in a mall fitting room. Police said Jose Muno, 28, of Middletown, was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony.

Troopers responded Oct. 23 to the Children's Place store in the Galleria Mail for a report of an employee using a cellphone to record someone undressing.

The victim reported the incident to management who contacted the state police.

A review of store surveillance showed Munoz using a cellphone to peer into the fitting room where the victim was.

He was arrested Oct. 24 and arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
