Mid-Hudson Man Accused Of Assault, Destroying Cell Phone

Police said he cut someone's hand and destroyed a cell phone during a domestic incident.

MONROE, NY — A Monroe resident was accused of slicing someone's hand and destroying a cell phone during a domestic incident.

The New York State Police said troopers were sent to a home in the town of Monroe around 2:15 a.m. Sunday for a report of a domestic incident.

When troopers arrived, they said they found the victim outside who was bleeding from the right hand.

Police said the initial investigation revealed that Irwin Traydman, 26, of Monroe, was involved in a verbal and physical fight with the victim.

During the fight, one of the hands of the victim was cut and a cell phone was destroyed while a call was trying to be made.

Traydman was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault, all felonies.

He was additionally charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief, also both felonies.

Traydman was taken to the Orange County jail for arraignment processing.
