MTA To Run Extra Trains For St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday
The MTA wants to remind its customers that alcohol will not be allowed on the trains.
With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Sunday this year, New York City's annual St. Patrick's Day parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 16. The MTA, as usual, is banning alcohol from the Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road.
In addition, there will be extra trains to get you to and from the festivities.
The MTA Police Department will enforce a ban on alcoholic beverages from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, March 16 to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 17. Any alcoholic beverages found by the MTA police will be confiscated, authorities said.
