New Windsor School Bus Crash: 3 Continue Recovering
Police issued updates on the conditions of the two drivers and the child who were injured in Wednesday's crash.
NEW WINDSOR, NY — The three people injured in Wednesday's school bus crash in Orange County continue to recover in the hospital.
Andrew Sanchez, 74, who was driving the Washingtonville district school bus, is in stable condition, as is the driver of Flannigan's Tree Service truck, Ian Jennings, 25, Midhudson News reported.
The 6-year-old child, who was sitting in back of the bus driver, has two broken bones and deep cut to her leg.

New Windsor Deputy Police Chief Michael Farbent said it is still unknown why Jennings crossed the yellow line on the highway and hit the school bus head on, the Times Herald-Record reported.

The bus was taking eight students to Little Britain Elementary School in New Windsor when the accident happened around 8:20 a.m. on Route 207, west of Beattie Road.

Seven of the students were able to walk off the bus. They were taken to a local hospital where they were seen by medical professionals.
Sanchez, Jennings and the girl had to be extricated, police said.
