Veterans can now access the shuttle in Greenville and Montgomery; more service locations will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

“The County is always looking to improve its array of services for our veterans,” Neuhaus said. “Expanding the Veterans Van service will help even more of these brave men and women get to important medical appointments in a convenient and comfortable manner. One of our top priorities is to continue to provide our veterans with the support and services they deserve.”

The Greenville Veterans Van service pick-up will be at VFW Post 3175, located at 1316 Route 6, and the stop in Montgomery is at the Shop Rite parking lot, 99 Hawkins Drive. Departure times are determined each trip. Veterans with mobility difficulties should arrange to bring their own escort. Vans do not run on county holidays and can make only authorized stops.

Tipping or other fees are not permitted. Veterans are responsible for their own transportation to and from their pick-up location. Riders must have appointments no later than 1 p.m. Farrell said that additional Orange County Veterans Van service locations will be added in Orange County in the coming weeks.

“The Veterans Service Agency continues to strive to meet the needs of all 23,000 veterans living in Orange County,” Farrell said. “Programs such as the Veterans Van service are important to all of our veterans. We look forward to expanding this service and helping even more veterans with transportation to their medical appointments.”
