Pine Bush Man, 74, Pleads Guilty To Sexual Abuse Of A Child: Reports

The man, James Grant Jr.​, was charged in Feb. 2023​ with first-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

PINE BUSH, NY — A 74-year-old Pine Bush man facing multiple charges relating to the sexual abuse of a child has pleaded guilty just days before his trial was set to begin, according to multiple reports.

The man, James Grant Jr., was charged in Feb. 2023 with first-degree sex abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Police said they were notified Jan. 27, 2023 that Grant touched a child under the age of 11 in an inappropriate manner three days earlier.

He was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court and released on $5,000 bail. An order of protection was issued by a judge on behalf of the victim.
