Police Arrest 2 In Death Of 12-Year-Old
Gilbert Thomas, 24, and Robert James, 46, face murder, assault and gun charges.
KINGSTON, NY — Two Kingston men have been arrested, accused of shooting into a home in Kingston and killing a 12-year-old girl.

Gilbert Thomas, 24, and Robert James, 46, face charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and criminal use of a firearm.

Police called Dec. 17 to an apartment at 60 Van Buren St. found a 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy with gunshot wounds. The girl died; her brother was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment.
D’Janeira Mason was a seventh-grader at J. Watson Bailey Middle School, which posted a video on its website in her memory.
