Poughkeepsie, Wappingers School Budget Vote Results
The budget vote went on despite the severe weather.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Voters around the mid-Hudson Valley went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to pass budgets for the 2018-19 school year. The Poughkeepsie school district was asked to approve a $99.8 million spending package, up 3.16 percent over the current year. It was approved 842 to 440
The tax levy increase is 4.39 percent.
Incumbent Felicia Watson and Michelle Martinez-Leffert were elected to the board of election.

Wappingers Central School District voters were asked to approve a $231.2 million budget, up 2.72 percent from the current year. It was approved 1,935 to 815.
The tax levy increase is 2.92 percent.

The second proposition asked voters to OK the borrowing of $33.8 million for the 2018 capital project. It was approved.
A third proposition asked to purchase 14 71-passenger buses and nine 19-passenger vans at a total cost of $1.97 million. It was approved.
