Poughkeepsie's Alternative School Needs Certificate of Occupancy, Must Be Reinspected
State education officials said its papers are for a vacant structure.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Poughkeepsie City School District’s alternative school building lacks the necessary certificate of occupancy and must be reinspected, the state Education Department said.
According to a letter sent to Superintendent Nicole Williams, the Christoper Columbus Elementary School building only has a CofO for a vacant building, the Poughkeepsie Journal’s Nina Schutzman reported.
The building is where Poughkeepsie’s Academic and Career Excellence academy is housed.
