7 Injured In School Bus Crash In Hudson Valley: UPDATE
The school bus was rear-ended by a pick-up truck, police said.

MAMAKATING, NY — Police released more information about the school bus crash that occurred Thursday in the Town of Mamakating. The collision which occurred around 7:45 a.m. involved a school bus that was traveling from Fallsburg to BOCES in Orange County and a pick-up truck on State Route 17 east in the Town of Mamakating.
State police said there were five children and two bus monitors on board at the time.
The children, who ages ranged from 6 to 17, suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Two bus monitors received minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the bus was not injured.
Police said that the preliminary investigation found that the driver of the pick-up — 57-year-old man from Liberty — rear-ended the school bus, pushing it into the guide rail. The bus then flipped over on its side.

The pick-up's driver was not injured. He was cited for following too closely, a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Route 17 was closed between exits 112 and 113 until around 10 a.m.
The name of the school district was not released. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
